Terms of Service

Welcome to Taliento. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website taliento.co.ug (the "Platform"), operated by Taliento (ESOM School of Music), based in Kampala, Uganda ("Taliento", "we", "us", or "our").

By using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. What Taliento is

Taliento is a directory that helps people in Uganda discover and connect with creative and performing talent, such as musicians, vocalists, sound engineers, producers, MCs, dancers, and other creatives. Seekers (such as churches, event organizers, and individuals) can find talent, and talent can list themselves and find opportunities.

Taliento is a connector, not a party to any arrangement. We provide a place for people to find each other. We do not employ talent, we do not provide the services listed, and we are not involved in any agreement, booking, payment, or work that results from a connection made through the Platform.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform. By using it, you confirm that you are 18 or older and that the information you provide is accurate.

3. Your account

You sign in using Google. You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for everything that happens under it. You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.

4. Your content

You own what you post. You keep ownership of the profile information, opportunities, photos, and links you add. By posting them, you give us permission to display them on the Platform so the directory can work.

You are responsible for what you post. You agree that your content is accurate, is yours to share, and does not break any law or infringe anyone else's rights. Do not post anything false, misleading, offensive, or that impersonates someone else.

We can remove content. We may remove any profile, opportunity, or content, or suspend or close any account, at our discretion, particularly if we believe it breaks these Terms or could harm other users.

5. Connections and dealings between users

When you use Taliento to connect with someone, any communication, negotiation, agreement, payment, or work happens directly between you and the other person, off the Platform (for example over WhatsApp or phone).

Because of this, you understand and agree that:

• We do not vet, verify, endorse, or guarantee any user, their identity, their skills, their conduct, or the quality of any service. (Where a profile shows an "ESOM verified" badge, that indicates only that the person is a recognized graduate of the ESOM School of Music, not a guarantee of their work.)
• We do not guarantee that you will find talent, find work, get a response, or reach any agreement.
• We are not responsible for the actions, conduct, or content of any user, or for anything that happens as a result of a connection made through the Platform.
• Any dispute between users is between those users. You agree to resolve it directly and not to hold Taliento responsible.

You are responsible for using your own judgment and taking your own precautions when dealing with anyone you meet through the Platform.

6. No payments through Taliento

Taliento does not process payments. We do not take a commission, hold funds, or act as an escrow. Any money that changes hands is arranged and paid directly between users, at their own risk. We are not responsible for any payment, non-payment, or financial loss.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Platform for any unlawful or fraudulent purpose
• Post false, misleading, or impersonating information
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Scrape, copy, or misuse other users' information, including contact details
• Attempt to disrupt, hack, or interfere with the Platform
• Use the Platform to send spam or unwanted marketing

8. Intellectual property

The Taliento name, logo, design, and the Platform itself are owned by us. You may not copy, reproduce, or use them without our permission. This does not affect your ownership of the content you post.

9. Disclaimer

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available." We do our best to keep it running and accurate, but we do not promise that it will always be available, error-free, or that the information on it is complete or reliable. You use the Platform at your own risk.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Taliento and the people behind it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss of profit, opportunity, data, or reputation, arising from your use of the Platform or from any connection, dealing, or dispute between users. Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Platform at any time and ask us to close your account. We may suspend or close your account, or remove your content, at our discretion, including if you break these Terms. On termination, your right to use the Platform ends.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date. By continuing to use the Platform after changes, you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Uganda. Any dispute relating to the Platform will be handled under Ugandan law.
